Corona del Mar is located in California’s prosperous Newport Beach area. It is bordered by the San Joaquin Hills on its seaward section. The town offers striking views of the coast, with fabulous beaches and rocky cliffs framing the bustling community just beyond. The area is the location of dozens of retail and leisure establishments, all of which service the scores of local residents and tourists that flock to the area every year. Among the most famous landmarks in the area are the State Beach and the Crystal Cove located in the state park just past Corona del Mar’s southern boundary.

The first settlers to Corona Del Mar arrived in the early 1900s. The residential structures in the town have traditionally taken the form of free standing homes of different sizes and designs. Situated fairly close together, most of these homes were the longtime residences of the earlier settlers to the area and their subsequent generations, as well as newer settlers. Most residential structures in Corona Del Mar are located along State Route 1, which is also called the Pacific Coast highway. In recent years, scores of newer ranch-style homes were built in the Harbor View Hills area, most of which featured views of the nearby ocean.
