Aliso Viejo is the 34th city of Orange County in California. Its 2010 population of 47,823 was a moderate increase from its 2000 population of 40,166. Aliso Viejo is the only city that has been incorporated in Orange County after the year 2000.
Aliso Viejo is located adjacent to Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, and Laguna Woods. The city is especially famous for Marriot’s second hotel in the area, called Renaissance ClubSport. This combination hotel, resort, and fitness center was reputedly built at a cost of $65 million. The resort broke ground in July of 2008, and it has been an enduring facet of the Aliso Viejo leisure scene ever since.
Aliso Viejo is also known for its bustling Town Center, which is a popular spot for residents as well as visitors. Boasting of numerous dining and leisure attractions, the Town Center is a great place to see a movie, to grab a quick bite (or a more leisurely dinner), or to do some serious shopping.
